I'm so excited that running club is Just another week away! On Wednesday, October 14, 2015, the scholars are to meet upstairs in the Multipurpose room from 3:45-5pm. During this time, we will talk and go over a brief overview, our mission and goals for this year.
Running club for anyone in Elementary, Middle and High School, including parents, friends and staff of One School. Few spots are still open, so please register ASAP.
The club will meet one afternoon a week, on Wednesdays, from 3:45 to 5:00 P.M. The focus of the club will be to introduce running as a fun, healthy, and exciting life-long activity to individuals of all levels. Anyone who is not a scholar or OSOTA staff member, must first have a background check completed to participate (please ask front desk).
This year, we will focus primarily on becoming a better 5km runner. This program will be staffed by parent volunteers who are experienced runners. The program will incorporate games, stretching, and of course running using the Seminole County Bike Trail as well as the One School campus. Parents must arrange for afterschool care if they are unable to pick-up their child promptly at 5:00 PM.
Our first meeting will be on Wednesday, October 14th in the multi-purpose room at 3:45pm. Enrollment is limited to the first 25 individuals who submit a completed registration form. This year, we will also try to schedule several runs throughout the Orlando area and our goal is to compete in a 5k event. Participants will be shuttled in privately owned vehicles by their parents, and/or One School vans.
****There will be an occasional cost for scholars who participate. Monies collected will go towards a snack fee and race entry fees.
Items needed for participation:
• Good running shoes, shorts, and tee-shirt (Dri-Fit material)
• A small notebook and pen for keeping a journal
• A bottle of water (no sodas)
• Completion of Running Club Registration & Guardian Release Form
