Field Trips
Adventures Await!
Field trips with One School of the Arts & Sciences compliment the hands-on, project-based learning that takes place in our classrooms. With careful planning, we strive for experiences that not only support the curriculum, but deepen learning and foster appreciation and understanding of our larger world.
One School field trips are memorable and they bring life to what is being taught. Off-campus learning, as well as on site guest speakers and experiences, provide an exhilarating, visible dimension to the educational process. Additional trips occur for the purpose of rewarding scholar performance and providing opportunities for community service.
Scholars experience local, out-of-state, and international field trips and activities intended to:
Increase critical thinking
Act as a culminating activity
Provide life-long memories
Apply knowledge to today’s world
Serve as a motivational tool
Provide culturally enriching experiences
Sights to See!
Although we take great care to secure the dates up to a year in advance, please note that dates are subject to change due to inclement weather or site cancellations. Field trips also may change from year to year as new opportunities arise for scholars. For details on each experience such as arrival and departure times, and what to bring, please anticipate an RSVP form from your child’s teacher or the field trip sponsor. Besides personal spending money, there are no additional costs since campus fees are paid up front. We hope each scholar, teacher, and chaperone create wonderful shared memories together this school year!
Featured Grade Level Trips!
PreK @ Disney Grad Day
OSOTA’s 4 year olds have been celebrating the beginning of their elementary life since 2014 at Disney. Each year, our young scholars visit the most magical place on earth to make memories and wrap up the school year with friends they have known since being in diapers! We commemorate their journey from PreK to Kindergarten creatively, replacing cap and gown with custom T-shirts and Mickey ears!
3rd Grade @ Kennedy Space Center
Space exploration is exciting for everyone, but 3rd graders especially have the opportunity to experience science, technology, and engineering up close with a visit to Kennedy Space Center. During this field trip, scholars come face-to-face with Space Shuttle Atlantis®, explore the massive 363 foot-long Saturn V moon rocket at the Apollo/Saturn V Center, tour NASA's spaceflight operations, interact with immersive simulators and exhibits, and so much more.
8th Grade @ Our Nation’s Capital
These scholars’ annual field trip to Washington, D.C. is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. During spring break, we take a special visit to our nation’s capital. This experience brings history to life and also shows scholars living history with visits to the Oval Office, the opportunity to be spectators at a senate hearing, and visit the Arlington Cemetery to honor fallen heroes, veterans, and active duty military. This experience is truly unforgettable.
9th Grade @ Pigeon Key
Ninth graders travel together each year to Pigeon Key for a three-day, two-night excursion studying marine life such as invertebrate, habitats, shark dissection. Biology transforms into a living classroom. Each trip includes a snorkel adventure to Sombrero Reef. Creative, hands-on, curriculum-based activities deepen their subject knowledge and provide an unforgettable appreciation for God's creation.
