Spiritual Emphasis Week: Nurturing Hearts and Minds at One School
Last week, we were so blessed with another deeply fulfilling Spiritual Emphasis Week. Every year I eagerly anticipate how God will work in our community. This time, I am particularly moved by a quote that resonates with our journey: βTo fall in love with God is the greatest romance; to seek Him is the greatest adventure; to find Him, the greatest human achievement.β This sentiment beautifully encapsulates the essence of the truth we want our scholars to embrace as they build their foundation of faith.
In our fast-paced, ever-changing world, it is of the utmost importance that our scholars build and nurture a strong spiritual foundation. Spiritual Emphasis Week provides a protected time for our scholars to pause and deeply engage with their faith. This celebration is so much more than a tradition. It is about empowering our scholars to actively live out the idea that seeking and knowing God is the greatest adventure and achievement of all.
At One School of the Arts and Sciences, we embrace a holistic approach to education. One that nurtures the body, soul and spirit. We define community as a group of people who are committed to growing together. We believe that spiritual growth is essential in shaping our scholars hearts and minds so they can approach life with confidence, empathy and purpose.
We are so very grateful to have a community that supports our scholars in their spiritual growth. This year as I looked at the worship band on stage it inspired me to see that we had 2 members of our church youth group leading alongside four of our amazing Dads. What a blessing for our youth worship team to be able to receive for the week and prioritize their own growth instead of being on stage leading. What a beautiful example of service that our One School and One Church Dads were to our middle and high school scholars. Another particularly moving moment was when alumni Ben LaChance came to close out the last service. His authenticity and vulnerability not only inspired but also challenged everyone in their faith. There were so many testimonies from scholars sharing how God revealed his heart to them and they experienced the depths of his love during worship and times of prayer.
I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all of our families and school community for their unwavering support and prayer during this week. Also, thank you to our special guests who came and spoke. Together we are cultivating the hearts and minds of our future leaders, guiding them as they choose to build a deep foundation rooted in God's love. It is an incredible honor to serve you and your families.
