Innovation Week | March 9-13, 2020
In March, OSOTA held its first annual INNOVATION WEEK for high school scholars. It was a GREAT success! This special week was designed in a conference style setting with breakout sessions and keynote speakers to give scholars valuable insight into the future of where science, math, technology, and businesses are heading. Our scholars were introduced to real world cutting edge careers and industries that are currently experiencing disruptive innovation. INNOVATION WEEK was filled with on campus guests which included inventors, a STEM university, innovation experts from different industries, and even a former Disney Imagineer. The scholars were able to hear personal accounts, experience creative innovations in different career fields, and also took a field trip to Orlando’s own WALL CRAWL for a behind the scenes experience.
We would like to thank all of the speakers and businesses that partnered with OSOTA - Joshua and Jeanette Johnson (Wallcrawl, Founders/Owners), Barry Goldfarb (BSG Media, Inventor), Indira Sukhraj (Learning & Development Facilitator, Florida Polytechnic University), Laresa Tapia (Inventor/CEO, Polyblox), Tim Orrange (Business Intelligence Consultant, Think Talent),
Larry Reed (Safety & Mission Assurance Engineer, Kennedy Space Center), Kaleigh Seidel (Actuarial Analyst, AON Hewitt), Don Elderkin (Owner, Bosox Builders), Rob Breedlove (General Manager, AutoNation Acura North Orlando), Hector Perez (Sales Representative, Mercedes Benz of South Orlando), Margie Batista (Product Concierge, Mercedes Benz of South Orlando) and Brian Collins (Brainstorm Institute, Former Disney Imagineer). Thank you for pouring your passions and talents into the next generation of innovators!
