  • Summer Reading celebrates school wide participation, so we all read over the summer, even teachers and staff!

  • Scholars in all grades should choose 1-2 books, depending on the grade entering from the Featured Titles list outlined on the school website.

  • Scholars in 2nd – 12th may choose ONE project to submit based upon their selected book.

  • Scholars in PreK- 1st grade are NOT required to complete a book project.

  • All scholars, in all grades, need to memorize a poem by a well-known or famous poet. We encourage selections from the book titled, Poems to Learn by Heart by Caroline Kennedy.

  • 5th – 12th grade projects will be graded and judged by English Language Arts Teachers based upon content mastery.

  • 2nd – 4th grade projects will only be judged on creativity, attention to detail, and accuracy.

  • Projects must be turned into the teacher by the 2nd week of school.

  • Scholars’ names and grade entering should be on the project.

  • Scholars must read one or more books from their Featured Titles List.

  • Scholars are welcome to read other books from the Suggested Titles List.

  • Only scholars who have read, completed a book project, and memorized a poem may participate in the Summer Reading Celebration.

  • Supported Media/Video files .mov, .mp4
